In 2013, Refinery29 acquired Socialbomb to help build their next-generation media platform.
I provided thought leadership on innovative brand partnerships, particularly around bridging online with brick-and-mortar shopping. As part of that initiative, I conceived and led an initiative to build a mobile social platform for product discovery, including iBeacon-powered contextual content delivery for retail partners, which was a major component in R29's strategy to reach Fortune 100 companies.
Separately, I created platforms and APIs for structured data around products, brands, and users on Refinery29. I also led product strategy for new features to gauge user intent, gather user data, and optimize discovery of shoppable content, including establishment of a new platform for native product ads that appear throughout R29.
